Description:
Set out for a 2-day exploration of the Blue Mountains—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the surrounding region. Talk a walk through the bush, admire the Three Sisters, pop around the charming town of Leura, and get up close to cuddly koalas and hopping kangaroos at the Featherdale Wildlife Park.
Day 1
After you're picked up from your Sydney Hotel, leave the city behind as you ride toward Blue Mountains National Park. Stop at Echo Point for an incredible vista over the rocky landscape, including the Three Sisters formation. Shop for locally made crafts and souvenirs before heading to your accommodations for the evening.
Day 2
Your second day begins at Katoomba Scenic World, where you can enjoy a walk on an elevated boardwalk through the rainforest, gazing out at the canyons and forested stretches of Jamison Valley. Continue on to the charming town of Leura, where you can spend some time exploring its gardens, admiring its Victorian architecture, and popping into quaint shops.
In the afternoon, head to Featherdale Park—this zoo specializes in Australian animals, so now's your chance to feed a kangaroo, hold a koala, or watch little blue penguins waddling about. Your last stop is at Homebush Bay, the venue for the 2000 Olympic Games. From here you can ride back to your hotel or choose to add on a cruise along the Parramatta River into Sydney Harbor to end your tour on a high note.
