At the marina in Cairns, step aboard a luxurious, high-speed 65-foot (20-meter) catamaran. Grab a cup of coffee, take a seat on the sun-drenched deck, and set sail for the cerulean Coral Sea. Your skipper steers the way to each reef location depending on the conditions of the day.
Arrive at the Upolu Cay Reef, a sometimes-exposed isle whose appearance shifts with the currents, wind, and waves. After a brief orientation, don your snorkel gear and set out to explore the delicate coral formations and technicolor reef fish in the shallow waters.
Then savor a delicious buffet lunch of smoked salmon, chilled prawns, salads, and fresh breads as you cruise to the impressive “Wonder Wall” on the outer edge of the Upolu Reef.
Rising up 45 astonishing feet (14 m) from the ocean floor, this vertical coral metropolis is truly magnificent.
