Description:

Wander the remarkable ruins of Chichen Itza, an iconic city of the ancient Maya, on this full-day cultural excursion. Explore the sacred temples, grand pyramids, and ceremonial sites as you unravel the mysteries of the Mayan civilization.

Begin your day with a convenient hotel pickup in a comfortable 16-seat van. Upon arriving at the Mayaland Hotel, you can find an exclusive private entrance to access the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Chichen Itza.

Marvel at the towering Temple of Kukulkan, which stands 75 feet (22 m) high and is adorned with the image of the feathered Maya snake god. Twice a year on each solstice, as the sun hits this dazzling step pyramid at just the right angle, the shadows form a snake that winds down the steps.

From there, walk onto the largest ball court in the Americas, measuring 554 feet (168 m) long and 231 feet (70 m) wide. Stop to ponder the rows of stone pillars in the Temple of a Thousand Columns and gaze into the deep waters of the Sacred Cenote, a ceremonial site where the Maya made human sacrifices to appease their gods.
