Delve deep into the heritage of Dublin and its people as you walk among the 1.5 million graves of Glasnevin Cemetery. Discover the city’s rich history with a guided tour, dramatic reenactments, and interactive exhibits. You even have the chance to trace your ancestors at the genealogy research area.

As Ireland’s largest cemetery—holding tombstones of the rich and famous, as well as the poor and deprived—a visit to Glasnevin can provide a comprehensive insight into Dublin's profound history.

Embark on a fun and interactive tour with a passionate local as your guide, and explore the graves of politicians and artists, burial sites of Irish troopers and heroes, and crypts of local Dubliners dating back to 1832. Listen to stories of grave robbing, cholera epidemics, and tales of the individuals that have shaped Ireland’s past and present.

Get an even closer look at and deeper understanding of Dublin’s never-forgotten people at the Glasnevin Museum. With interactive displays, exclusive lectures, and various galleries, you can uncover more of the Irish story.

Trace your ancestors at the genealogy research area, where you can access extensive records. Browse through original, hand-written entries, and click through the online archives to see if you have any Irish relatives.

At the National Botanic Gardens that borders the cemetery, stroll through the vast parklands to admire the collection of rare plants and delicate flowers to improve your knowledge of emerald Irish flora.
