Sprawling over 2,504 acres (10,160 ha) on the west side of the Canadian Rockies, Fernie Alpine Resort offers winter sports enthusiasts of all skill levels a huge variety of terrain to explore, plus the famed snow of British Columbia's Powder Highway.

Fernie boasts 142 named runs, covering inbound steeps and 5 partially groomed alpine bowls. Take a tour to learn your way around the mountain, and then hit the slopes via 10 different lifts. Approximately 30% of the terrain is classified as beginner, 40% as intermediate, 25% advanced, and 5% appeals to expert skiers.

With the summit rising up to 7,050 feet (2,148 m), Fernie sees more than 444 inches (11.3 m) of snowfall each year. There's plenty of ground to cover here, with 2,814 feet (858 m) of vertical drop and runs that carve up to 3 miles (5 km) down the hillside. If your style is more half-pipe than groomer, practice your jumps and grabs at the RCR Rail Park.

Just 3 miles (5 km) from the historic mining town of Fernie—dubbed The Coolest Town in North America by Rolling Stone—the resort's après-ski scene buzzes.
