Navigate over 6 miles with the aid of your personable and knowledgeable guide. Between the rapids, take the time to enjoy the charming scenery, including towering sycamore trees crested on rocky overlooks.

The river takes its name from the passenger pigeon, now an extinct bird, whose migration route once included the river valley. The river route carves through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee National Forest, Martha Sundquist State Forest, and the Appalachian Trail.
