Begin your tour with a scenic journey as you head northwestwards through the historic area of Linlithgowshire—home to Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Continue along the Forth Valley before arriving at Stirling. Here you’ll see the iconic Castle and Wallace Monument, which honors the country’s great hero, William Wallace. Let the magnificent structure dominate your view as you ascend the mighty rock where it executes itself upon the surrounding land. Once at the top, admire the panoramic views of landscapes below.
Next, head to the the point where the Lowlands meet the Highlands, Trossachs—often referred to as The Highlands in Miniature. Entering this picturesque area feels like going into a complete different country. Admire the glistening lochs, rugged mountain tops, and forest-filled glens before lunch at one of the local villages.
Along the shores of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s first national park, enjoy a stroll along the ‘bonny banks’ and head up to a viewpoint for a stunning view of the loch and the Ben Lomond mountain.
