Description:

On this full-day tour, explore the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)—a region that once divided North and South Vietnam. Just south of the 17th parallel north, this historic area is home to incredible remains and sites from the First and Second Indochina wars.

After pickup from your hotel in Hue, travel north to the DMZ area. Your first stop is Dong Ha, a rural town where many American marines were based in the 1970s. Then spot the Dakrong Bridge, a hotly contested access point during the Vietnam War, located along the Ho Chi Ming trail.

Continue along the highway and look out for The Rockpile, a rocky mountain and former US Marine outpost. Afterward, visit Khe Sanh combat base, the site that saw a US marine camp fall under the attack from North Vietnamese Army. Before you return to Dong Ha for lunch, see local villages along the Ho Chi Minh trail.

Your day continues on to the Hien Luong Bridge, an important structure spanning the Ben Hai River; it was painted 2 different colors to mark the official border between North and South Vietnam. Later, stop at Doc Mieu and Vinh Moc to learn how an entire village survived for years in these secret tunnels. At the end of your adventure, your transfer takes you back to your hotel.
