A short drive from Taipei brings you to the small town of Yingko. Known for its high-quality pottery, over half the town's population is involved in the ceramics industry. Learn about the craft as you watch master artisans at work and take the opportunity to purchase a few mementos

Continue on to the town of Sanhsia and explore the lanes lined with old-style buildings decorated with intricate wood carvings as well as bronze and stone sculptures. Then marvel at the town’s landmark, Tsushih Temple, ornately adorned with stone and camphor-wood carvings. This 18th-century temple is an example of excellent Taiwanese architecture and craftsmanship.
