Description:
Spend a day at Kuranda's Rainforestation Nature Park, with plenty of opportunities to get up close to Australian wildlife. Ride on a scenic railway, tour the forest by land and water in a Duck, and gain insight into the culture of the area's indigenous people.
Begin your tour with hotel pickup and travel to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, where you climb into a gondola and soar over the forest canopy. This 4.5-mile (7.5-km) ride makes several stops along the way. Admire spectacular views as you glide over the rainforest, past the Barron River and along the Barron Gorge and Falls.
Continue your tour at the Rainforestation Nature Park. Hop on an amphibious, World War II-era Duck vehicle and explore the flora and fauna of this incredible ecosystem by land and water.
Next, visit the Koala and Wildlife Park and follow your guide through various bush habitats to meet native animals. Watch kangaroos and wallabies hop about, cuddle a cute koala, and watch for the flightless cassowary.
Break for a buffet-style lunch before enjoying some free time at the Kuranda Village. Wander around the village's colorful market or spend some time shopping or snacking around.
After touring the quaint town's streets, rejoin your group at the Kuranda Train Station. World-renowned for its gorgeous route, this historic train charters you past cascading waterfalls and verdant rainforests. Your tour finishes with a return transfer to your hotel.
