By morning, soak up Lisbon's most iconic landmarks and explore the many facets of Portugal's capital city. By afternoon, visit the quaint town of Sintra, a scenic UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to opulent palaces, colorful houses, and cobbled alleys that run up to steep slopes.
Begin with a trip across the 25th of April Bridge, over the River Tejo, and enjoy unrivaled views across Lisbon before reaching Belém. This quarter is home to monuments that date back to the 15th and 16th centuries, including the Belém Tower, the Monument of the Discoveries, and the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline style.
Continue to the Coach Museum and the emblematic Alfama quarter. One of the oldest districts of Lisbon, it has a blend of Roman and Moorish architecture. Follow your guide through the narrow streets to a craft shop for a sample of port wine before some free time at Pombal Square.
Embark on your afternoon tour to historic Sintra, renowned for its impressive landscape. Travel through the verdant mountains, which cast a veil of mystery over the town below, and visit the well-preserved Sintra National Palace, a past royal summer residence.
Then head out to Cabo da Roca, Europe's westernmost point. Embrace the coastal views as you make your way to stylish Cascais for a glimpse of its sandy beaches and glorious waters. As you head back to Lisbon, pass through the sophisticated Estoril for views of its famous casino and gardens.
