Description:
The evergreen landscapes and attentive residents of Lopez await. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and explore for yourself the dramatic coastline of this island, as you leisurely paddle and admire local wildlife from your vantage point.
After meeting your guide and getting a safety briefing, as well as basic instruction on how to control your kayak, you're ready to go. Push off from the beach and paddle around the coastline. Listen to your guide's narration about the island's way of life, the farming traditions of Scandinavian settlers as far back as the 1850s. Make sure you wave back to the attentive folks waiving to you from their cars—Lopez Island is known for its smiling and hospitable locals.
This kayaking trip gives you a unique perspective and access to places you might not otherwise find. Admire the stunning natural landscape that spreads out in all directions, as far as the eye can see. You can spot bald eagles, purple and orange starfish, moon jellies, Dall's porpoises, herons, and Dungeness crabs.
