Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Megalithic Temples of Malta date back to 3150 BC, and are claimed as the oldest free-standing stone structures in the world. Start with a visit to the Tarxien Temples, exploreed by local farmers in 1914.

Journey on to the Ghar Dalam cave, a prehistoric site where excavations found a series of human and animal bones and fossils. This represents the earliest evidence of human settlements, with remains dating back as far as 7,400 years.

Continue to the fragile temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra, at the southern tip of Malta. These 2 sites are considered as the best example of Maltese megalithic architecture still standing.
