Description:

Visit the renowned Majorelle and Menara gardens. These wonderful tropical gardens house fountains, pools, forests of bamboo, cactus, and a fabulous private museum collection.

Over 15 exclusive North African bird species can be found here in these botanical gardens, and cobalt buildings dot this area, which was laid out by French artist Louis Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent. After peering at these unique species, head to the city ramparts to view impressive gates.

An expression of the timeless aspects of Moroccan life, the ramparts dominate Marrakech with their characteristic red stone walls and superb gates. Over 6 miles long, the city ramparts are among Marrakech's main attractions. Well-preserved with height ranging from approximately 25 to 32 feet (8 to 10 m), 10 gates pierce the wall making entry points. The most well-known of these gates is Bab Khemis, but several gates have also been models for other Moroccan cities.
