Description:
On this full-day tour, get the best of Maui's land and water. Start by kayaking and snorkeling along the west Maui shorelines before a leisurely hike through the lush rainforest valley, where you can swim in waterfall-fed pools. Along the way, savor snacks and a picnic-style lunch.
Your adventurous day begins on the beach where your guide briefs you on kayak safety and equipment. Once you're comfortably seated in your ocean kayak, steer down the coastline for a 2.5-mile (.8-m) paddle. This smooth water is a favorite for whales in the early part of each year.
Admire the majestic West Maui Mountains and the lush Ukumehame Valley before jumping in the crystal-clear waters to snorkel. Beneath the surface, keep an eye out for a variety of marine life, including coral, tropical fish, and even sea turtles.
Afterward, take an informative ride along the Hana Highway to a private trail. From here, your guide leads you under towering trees and fragrant, exotic flowers. Stop at different points on the path to learn how the flowers are used and which plants can be eaten.
