Description:
Explore world-famous Molokini Crater, designated a marine preserve in 1977, and see some of the best preserved hard coral reefs in Maui County. Watch for whales, fish, and manta rays with the advantage of some of the best underwater visibility in the world, commonly exceeding 100 feet (30.4 m).
On a drift dive, experience everything the Molokini Crater has to offer without the limitations of having to return to a mooring. You start with the back wall of the crater, dropping nearly vertically to the bottom, 360 feet (110 m) below. Then ride the current around the perimeter of the crater, drifting at 60–70 feet (18–21 m).
You may see white tip reef shark as well as black tip reef shark, schooling fish, enormous ulua (giant trevali), and reef fish. Keep your eyes peeled for blue dragon nudibranch, cowrie and healthy wire coral, along with other healthy hard coral along the wall. The sheer vertical wall and unbelievably blue water make this a memorable experience.
During a safety stop, kick away from the wall and watch for humpback whales, whale sharks, manta rays, and galapagos sharks. On the second tank, explore the inside of the crater to admire pristine coral. Swim out the “reefs end,” where the current begins and where larger grey sharks and barracuda station. Once you catch the current, drift back along the outside of the crater and complete your excursion.

This is an advanced dive, and divers must have more than 20 dives with recent dive experience. It is recommended that divers who haven’t been diving recently complete a check out dive before booking this charter.,
