Learn to surf in Australia's surfing capital, Torquay Beach–birthplace of the iconic surfing brands, Quiksilver and Rip Curl–to learn to surf. Get your board onto the water and learn the tricks to ride a wave like a pro.

Torquay Beach—famous for its fantastic surfing swells—is the perfect beach to start your surfing adventure. Meet your attentive and experienced instructor, and pick out the perfect beginner surfboard together. After selecting your board, practice basic surfing techniques on the beach before moving into the nearby waist-deep water to become more comfortable with your board and learn the correct surfing techniques.

After that, it's time to launch into deeper water to catch your first wave, so strap the surfboard leash to your ankle, head down to the shoreline, and get amped up surf. Using your new knowledge, take long, steady strokes to paddle out into the ocean and then stand up on the deck of your board. Applying the skills your instructor taught you, maneuver your board expertly among the waves, letting the water crash around you as you surf back to shore. Your surfing adventure doesn't end there, however. Paddle your board out again and again, and enjoy this popular water sport to the fullest.
