Motown Records founder Berry Gordy's life story is set to the iconic music of Motown's biggest stars. The new sound hit the airwaves in 1959 and broke race barriers while launching the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye.

Based on Berry Gordy's autobiography, this musical chronicles the inception and operation of Motown Records in Detroit, Michigan.
