Description:
Feel the tropical breeze as you ride in an open-air, World War II amphibious vehicle, exploring landmarks at historic Pearl Harbor and downtown Honolulu by land and by sea and then stopping for a reverent visit at the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Bowfin submarine.
After you're picked up from your Waikiki hotel, a shuttle transports you to Pearl Harbor, where you meet your guide for the day. Watch “the day that will live in infamy” unfold during a video that documents the tragic events of the December 7th, 1941 attack that propelled the United States into World War II. After the film, a short boat ride takes you to the solemn memorial, which spans the sunken wreckage of the battleship Arizona and is a tribute to the 1,177 crewmen that went down with the ship.
From there, head across the water to the USS Bowfin, a submarine used in the Pacific Theater during the war. The Bowfin launched on December 2, 1942, one year to the date after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and was nicknamed the Pearl Harbor Avenger.
After touring the monuments and boats, your “con-duck-tor” leads you to the Duck—these amphibious vehicles were used during World War II, so it's a fitting way to continue your exploration of Honolulu's landmarks. Ride around town and cruise out into Keehi Lagoon, where you can admire the downtown skyline, the beaches of Waikiki, and sights like Diamond Head crater and Mokauea Island from the city streets and the tropical waters offshore.
