Description:

Embark on a winetasting excursion through a fertile stretch of earth known as the Golden Mile, visiting acclaimed vineyards and sampling a wide range of varietals along the way. With a local expert to lead you, spend a day among the rolling hills and lakeside estates of this charming landscape.

Leaving from Osoyoos, take a comfortable coach to La Stella Winery, where you can try tastes of the Maestoso, their signature merlot, while exploring the grounds of this Tuscan-style villa. Head up the valley as your guide shares anecdotes about area’s history. Once a prosperous gold-mining area, the Golden Mile is now known for its unusually temperate climate and rich soil, perfect for growing grapes. Arrive at Road 13 for sips of their award-winning chardonnay or pinot noir while enjoying breathtaking views from their lofty tasting room.

Venture further into the hills to visit Hester Creek Estate Winery, one of the oldest and most experienced in the region. Grab a glass of pinot gris or rosé as you snap photos of the surrounding scenery.

As the sun starts to dip toward the horizon, make a final stop at Maverick Estate Winery, where the simplest methods are used to preserve the wine’s natural flavor. When the last drops have been appraised, follow the valley floor south, away from the Golden Mile, past the shores of Osoyoos Lake, and back to your hotel.
