Description:

Spend an unforgettable evening around the table, soaking up the best of France’s culinary traditions with a gourmet 3-course meal and complementary wine pairings. Learn about wine regions, varietals, and terroir as you sip on vintages selected to highlight the flavors in each seasonal dish.

Upon arrival at the restaurant and tasting room near the Louvre, you’re greeted with a glass of Grand cru champagne and led to a private dining room. Sip on this fine flute of bubbly, working up an appetite as an expert sommelier welcomes you and offers some insight into how champagne is made and what makes it special.

Over the course of the meal, 3 delicious dishes featuring fresh-from-the-market produce are served. The menu changes weekly based on seasonal ingredients, and each course is matched with a generous pour of a perfectly paired wine. As you dine, waiters are on hand to introduce each bottle and answer questions, and your sommelier explains each pairing, offering tips on deciding which wines go well with certain foods.

Pick up information on France’s main wine regions, the types of grapes grown there, and the styles of wines they produce. Learn some oenophile jargon, delve into the concept of terroir to study how climate and soil impact a wine’s characteristics, discuss the differences between Old World and New World wines, and explore what means what on a French wine label. Finish the evening with a digestif (after-dinner drink of fortified wine or liquor) before heading out into Paris’ lively and luminous nighttime streets.
