Safari into the clouds on this full-day adventure and cross the ravines, plateaus, and breathtaking landscapes of northwest Argentina. Visit the great salt fields, San Antonio de los Cobres, San Salvador de Jujuy, and explore the village of Purmamarca with its stunning Hill of Seven Colors.

Your hosts for this incredible safari above and beyond northwest Argentina are Frank and Heike Neumann, who first explored this region while honeymooning here in 1991. Their customized '94 German Mercedes 4x4 truck designed by Frank, a former Mercedes-Benz employee, includes a sliding roof, a small kitchenette, and a toilet.

Start with a drive along the famous Train to the Cloud's track, one of the world's highest railroads, and pass by the picturesque Quebrada del Toro. After a brief stop at the Tastil Ruins, continue to idyllic San Antonio de los Cobres and enjoy lunch.

Back on scenic Route 40, enter the province of Jujuy to see the endless salt fields of Salinas Grandes with 2 volcanoes in the background. Head for the winding road of Abra del Potrerillo before reaching the peaceful Purmamarca village—famous for the Hill of Seven Colors. Gaze at this surreal cliff façade consisting of various sediments and soil types before a quick stop in San Salvador de Jujuy on your way back to Salta.
