Description:

Grab a seat on an old-fashioned trolley to cruise around the capital in style, hopping on and off at your leisure to visit D.C.'s iconic sights and national landmarks. Then, cross the Potomac to Arlington National Cemetery and explore the reverent monuments and memorials of this hallowed ground.

Board your trolley and set out through the neat green spaces, broad boulevards, and grand architecture of Washington, D.C. Step off at the National Mall to visit monuments like the Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial, and spend some time exploring the world-class exhibits at the Smithsonian and the Newseum. As you ride through lively neighborhoods like Georgetown, Chinatown, and Dupont Circle, a professional guide shares entertaining anecdotes and historical insight about the city.

Hop off the trolley to board a shuttle that takes you over the Potomac to Arlington, Virginia—home of the 600-acre (242-ha) Arlington National Cemetery. This land served as a camp for the Federal Troops during the Civil War, and was a safe haven for slaves entering the free North before it started being used for military burials in 1864. Learn about some of the 400,000 heroes, presidents, and veterans buried here, and watch the somber Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
