Take to the air for sweeping views of the wilderness around Whistler. From the windows of a helicopter, look down at the mountains, forests, waterfalls, and rivers of the region, and fly over the icy expanse of Cheakamus Glacier—you can even opt to land on this ancient, frozen formation.

The blades of a state-of-the-art helicopter whir and thrum above you as you depart from Whistler Heliport, soaring up above the Whistler resort into the backcountry of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Admire the rugged and snowcapped peaks—rising up to 9,488 feet (2,892 m), these craggy summits feel like the top of the world.

Look down at the expanse of the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, peer into mountain valleys flecked with hidden waterfalls, and watch the shadow of the chopper in a glacier-fed lake as you make your way toward Cheakamus Glacier.

For a little extra magic, you can experience the 12,000-year-old Rainbow Glacier with a touch down on the ice for a close-up look. Glacier landings are standard on the BC Experience and Ultimate BC Experience tours.
