Description:

Deep gorges, ochre-colored rock formations, and the distant ribbon of the winding Colorado River—the Grand Canyon is one of the world's most breathtaking wonders. Take in the UNESCO-listed scenery by train and on a nature walk as you explore the South Rim.

Begin your tour with a picturesque ride through the stunning red rock landscapes of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, the ponderosa pines of Flagstaff, and the dormant volcanoes of the San Francisco Peaks. Arrive at the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon and climb aboard the historic Grand Canyon Railway, traveling back in time during a 65-mile (105-km) journey complete with cowboys and live music. Enjoy a boxed lunch as you chug through forested valleys and narrow canyons, disembarking just steps from the South Rim.

Spend some free time exploring historic buildings like the Hopi House and Grand Canyon Village before meeting your experienced guide for a narrated 1-mile (1.6-km) nature walk. Stop at various outlooks along the South Rim, glimpsing the mighty Colorado far below you as you take in some of the canyon's deepest and widest points. See landmarks like Phantom Ranch and the Kaibab Suspension Bridge, and climb to the top of the Watchtower Observatory for a stunning desert panorama.

Your return journey takes you along the western edge of the Painted Desert and the Little Colorado River Gorge. Make a brief stop to scope out authentic Native American souvenirs at the Navajo Reservation before you head back to Sedona.
