Description:

Escape the confines of the city and get in touch with your inner explorer on this fun and adventurous tour through the ruggedly charming San Juan Islands. Accompanied by experienced guides, dive into activities like stand-up paddling, kayaking, and biking, all while camping each night under starry skies.

Day 1
Meet your guides on Lopez Island, enjoying lunch on the beach and then making the most of a take a breaking afternoon with a leisurely kayak tour along the rocky, forested coastline.

Day 2
Give stand-up paddling a try with a morning lesson, and then explore further afield in the afternoon. Hike and bike on scenic trails as you explore the natural beauty of the island, and sample tasty local products like honey and wine along the way.

Day 3
Pedal to the terminal and step onto a ferry to shuttle across the water to San Juan Island. Bike to a local lavender farm for a picnic lunch, watch for orca whales in Haro Strait from Roche Harbor’s Lime Kiln State Park lighthouse, and wander around the idyllic waterfront of Friday Harbor.

Day 4
Catch a ferry over to Orcas Island and drive along country roads in the morning to see artists’ studios and major landmarks, including the highest point in the islands at Mount Constitution. In the afternoon, set out for a chartered whale-watching cruise as you attempt to spot famous marine inhabitants such as orca whales, harbor seals, Dall’s porpoises, and sea lions.

Day 5
Conclude the experience with a 4-mile (6-km) kayak or stand-up paddleboard ride out to uninhabited James Island. Roam around the island and picnic on the beach before heading back to Lopez to bring your island adventures to a close.

Know before you book: Children 10 and younger are not allowed., Children 17 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult., You should have sufficient travel, injury, and accident (including sporting accidents) insurance., A complete packing list will be included in your trip confirmation pack., You do not need previous kayak or paddle board experience; but you must be able to ride a bicycle on your own., This tour begins on Lopez Island, approximately 100 miles (160 km) north of Seattle. It is accessible via ferry from Anacortes; you are responsible for making your own way to the meeting location.
