Bonjour, future travelers to France!
How do I know you’ll find yourself wandering les rues de Paris or sipping wine in Provence someday soon? Because for over 30 years, France has been the most visited country in the world, welcoming an average of 77 million international visitors each year. Sacre bleu, indeed!

As for me, I’ve gallivanted across France huit fois — eight carefully curated vacations that have given me a deep love of (and expertise in) all things à la française. And while each trip was très magnifique, I’ll be honest: the first few were a bit… zut alors....translation:  not great.

French culture is quite different than the American way, the “must‑see” list can be overwhelming, and trying to craft the perfect, enriching getaway—while juggling language barriers and logistical surprises—proved challenging. On my very first trip to Paris, I scheduled way too much, got lost en-route to nearly every stop (bonjour, missed museum entry times), and somehow always needed a snack when there wasn’t a boulangerie in sight (how is that even possible in France?). I spent more time feeling tired, stressed, and hungry than basking in that dreamy Parisian joie de vivre.
