Egypt Eclipse 2027: Starry Nights & Red Sea Retreats
Few experiences rival watching a total Solar Eclipse from the deck of a boat gliding along the Nile, framed by the timeless silhouettes of Egypt’s ancient temples. Over 13 unforgettable days, discover a country steeped in history, myth, and legend while taking part in a celestial event that only comes once in a lifetime. Stand before the Great Pyramids, ride a felucca for an eclipse viewing near Edfu, cycle the storied West Bank, sip tea with a Nubian family, and then retreat for several days of rest and renewal on the shores of the Red Sea. With time to snorkel vibrant reefs, bask in the sun, and fully sink into coastal paradise, it’s the perfect finale to an adventure where culture, nature, and astronomy collide.

Highlights
Stand in awe before the Great Pyramids of Giza and Egypt’s most iconic ancient wonders, Share stories over tea with a Nubian family in their riverside home, Witness the Solar Eclipse during a special sailing along the Nile near Edfu, Cycle the West Bank with a student guide to see community initiatives supporting local life, Spend a few days snorkelling and lounging in the paradise of Hurghada along the Red Sea

Accomodation
On this trip you can expect to stay in local hotels or pensions (with the exception of the start and finish hotels, which are often larger city hotels), which will vary a little in standard and facilities: some may not have elevators, air-conditioning or English-speaking staff, but most importantly all are in excellent central locations to give you maximum time for exploring the sights. You will also spend three nights on a Nile River Cruise with a spacious sundeck, delicious food options, and comfortable rooms.

Group Leader
This G Adventures group trip is accompanied by one of our group leaders, otherwise known as a Chief Experience Officer (CEO). The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the countries visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. We also use local guides where we think more specific knowledge will add to the enjoyment of the places we are visiting - we think it's the best of both worlds.
