Day 1: Rome; Rome
Upon arrival in Rome, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After you have checked in at the hotel, relax a bit.
Day 2: Rome; Rome (B)
Discover the magic of Rome on a 2 ½ hour guided walking tour through its charming cobblestone streets. View iconic landmarks including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona, while your expert guide shares stories of history, art, and culture. Along the way, pause to savor a refreshing Italian gelato or authentic espresso. This tour blends famous highlights with the joy of strolling like a local, capturing the essence of Rome’s timeless beauty.
Day 3: Rome; Rome (B)
Experience the wonders of the Vatican on this half-day guided tour through one of the world’s most fascinating city-states. Explore the Vatican Museums, home to galleries of statues, maps, tapestries, and the renowned Raphael Rooms. Step into the Sistine Chapel and gaze upward at Michelangelo’s breathtaking ceiling and dramatic “Last Judgment.” Conclude with a visit inside St. Peter’s Basilica, where masterpieces like the Pietà and Bernini’s Baldachin await. Day 4: Sorrento; Rome and Sorrento (B)
Check out of your hotel and meet your private car and driver who will transfer you to the train station for your 4 ½ hour journey to Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, a private car and driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Sorrento. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5: Sorrento; Sorrento and Pompeii (B)
Embark on a full-day adventure to uncover the wonders of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Begin with a shared guided tour of Pompeii, where you’ll explore the ancient ruins and hear the fascinating story of the city’s tragic destruction. Continue to Mount Vesuvius, ascending by coach to approximately 3,300 feet before hiking the final stretch to the crater’s edge. Marvel at sweeping 360-degree views, peer into the volcano’s depths, and enjoy an unforgettable journey through history and nature.
Day 6: Sorrento; Sorrento and Amalfi Coast (B)
Discover the beauty of the Amalfi Coast on a full-day tour from Sorrento. Travel along the world-famous coastal road, enjoying breathtaking sea views. Visit Positano, a vertically developed tangled overlay of streets and alleys filled with colorful boutiques and the majolica-tiled dome of Santa Maria Assunta. Continue to Amalfi, home to the stunning Cathedral of St. Andrew and rich maritime history. Conclude in Ravello, an elegant village surrounded by lush gardens and villas, offering unforgettable views of the coastline.
Day 7: Sorrento; Sorrento and Capri (B)
Depart from the marina in Sorrento for a full-day small-group boat tour to the enchanting island of Capri. With just eight guests aboard a traditional Sorrentine gozzo, admire the stunning Sorrento coast, passing ancient villages, Roman ruins, and hidden grottoes. Visit the famous Blue Grotto (weather permitting), as well as the White, Green, and Marvellous Grottos, before swimming in crystal-clear waters if you wish. Enjoy four hours of free time in the hilltop town of Capri for shopping in the piazzetta (little square) or relaxing in a nearby café. En route around the island, admire the Natural Arch, the Villa Cuzio Malaparte, Faraglioni Rocks and the lighthouse of Punta Carena. There will be several opportunities for swimming and snorkeling along the way. Conclude your journey with a refreshing limoncello tasting.
Day 8: Sorrento; Sorrento/Naples (B)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and travel to the airport by private car for your onward journey.
