Nov 10, 2030 - Little Cayman
Little Cayman, 70 mi/110 km northeast of Grand Cayman and reached by air from Grand Cayman or Cayman Brac, has good beaches, bird-watching in the winter, bonefishing and superior snorkeling and diving.
There's little to do on the island besides diving and bird-watching, though—there is no town, and there are only about 100 permanent residents. However, it's perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Nov 12, 2030 - San Andres Island
San Andres is located to the northeast of Colombia's Caribbean coast and has beautiful beaches characterized by white sand, red corals, and transparent water with seven different shades of blue, and for this reason it is known as the "Sea of Seven Colors." Its vegetation consists mainly of coconut trees. The San Andres Island and Providence Archipelago were discovered in 1510 by Spanish navigators while traveling from Jamaica to Miskitos. It was settled by the English and Dutch and later ceded to the Spanish government, giving rise to its Spanish heritage, however today, most of the island's inhabitants speak "Bende" or Caribbean English.

Nov 16, 2030 - Panama Canal
Linking the Atlantic to the Pacific, the Panama Canal provides one of cruising's most unforgettable experiences. Over 10 years were needed to complete the canal's 51 miles in 1914 - so avoiding the lengthy and often dangerous voyage around Cape Horn. 'The Big Ditch' lifts vessels by a fascinating feat of mechanics aided by on-shore 'mule' locomotives through three great locks, traversing man-made lakes, channels blasted through rock, and the dense jungle. Two other special highlights of the canal are Gatun Lake and the Gaillard cut. Gatun Lake is one of the world's largest man-made lakes covering 163 square miles. Gaillard Cut is an 8 mile channel built through solid rock which was the most difficult excavation in the canal construction.
Nov 16, 2030 - Panama City
The sights of Panama City are many, but much of it can be seen on foot. The Plaza de Francia is dedicated to the 22,000 workers who perished while building the Panama Canal. The ruins of the Church of Santo Domingo features an arch that has stood unsupported for hundreds of years. The golden altar of the Church of San Jose is the only original piece of architecture completely in tact after the Pirate Henry Morgan destroyed the city. There are many museums to explore in Panama City including: the newly restored Museum of Religious Art; the Museum of the History of Panama; the Atnthropology Museum; and the Museum of Natural Science. At Panama Viejo, view all the remains of the city’s original site.

Nov 21, 2030 - Coxen Hole (Roatan)
Coxen Hole (also called Roatan) is the capital of the Bay Islands that lie 30 miles off the Caribbean coast of Honduras, an archipelago patchwork that is the remains of an ancient submerged volcanic mountain range. It is located on the largest island, lush Roatan and offers a friendly and laid-back setting. Here you can enjoy the superb beach at West Bay, 'Dolphin Encounters' at Anthony's Key Resort and snorkelling and diving amid the Western Hemisphere's most spectacular underwater reefs. You can also take an excursion to visit Tikal, the ceremonial centre of the ancient Maya civilization, lying in a tropical rainforest 19 miles north of Lake Petén Itzá in Guatemala. The underwater environment is rich and extensive; reefs surround the islands, often within swimming distance of the shore. Caves and caverns are a common feature, with a wide variety of sponge and the best collection of pillar coral in the Caribbean.
Nov 22, 2030 - Guanaja Island, Honduras
Completely surrounded by dramatic reefs, Guanaja once served ancient Mayan and Payan Indians as a sacred and spiritual paradise. The lush island of Guanaja is the only Bay Island to boast mountains high enough to support a true river and scenic waterfalls. Unlike the other two islands, Guanaja remains the hidden treasure of the Caribbean. Besides attracting divers, anglers and adventure travelers with its tropical jungles, pure white sand and teeming reefs, Guanaja has also captured hearts of jetsetters, including international architects and world famous archaeologists/treasure divers, who have made the island their home or home away from home. Unlike the other Bay Islands, all transportation is by boat, adding to the island’s charm. Guanaja houses three small villages, Savannah Bight, Mangrove Bight, and “Bonacca Town” (Lo Cay). Christened “The Venice of the Caribbean” by author Jane Houlson (Blue Blaze 1934), “Bonacca” rises out of the sea, forming a 17-acre stilted town a few hundred meters offshore and is home to 75% of Guanaja’s population.
Nov 23, 2030 - Placencia
Belize's Placencia Peninsula, like Hopkins, appeals to those who want to combine a mainland vacation with seaside activities. Lying 114 mi/180 km by road south of Belize City, it offers a sleepy, almost South Pacific atmosphere, though a number of housing and condo developments are changing the peninsula, and not necessarily for the better.
You'll find a mix of budget and upscale lodges, some of Belize's best mainland beaches and several good restaurants and bars—hang out there for five days or so. Visitors can enjoy diving and snorkeling, although the reef is 15-20 mi/25-30 km offshore, requiring a long boat trip. Fishing is available, too, primarily for tarpon and bonefish. The area is known for its Creole seafood cuisine.
The peninsula community of Seine Bight is a Garifuna fishing village that experienced some culture shock because of the tourism development in this once-isolated area. After years of hoping, residents got their fondest wish when paving finally began on the 25-mi/40-km road from the Southern Highway to Placencia village.
An international airport just north of the peninsula serves inter-island air traffic as well as private planes.
Most visitors spend their days taking a series of day tours, which can be arranged locally. You can go by boat to Laughing Bird Caye National Park (excellent snorkeling there and at other sites on typical daylong snorkel tours), Monkey River (home of crocodiles, howler monkeys, boas and iguanas) or Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Red Bank, southwest of Placencia, is a mostly Maya village famous among birders as the January-March home of the endangered and beautiful scarlet macaw. Other options include renting kayaks to search for manatees in the local lagoon or renting bikes to visit other parts of the peninsula.
Nov 24, 2030 - Puerto Morelos
In Puerto Morelos tranquility reigns with open skies, long stretches of beach and a small town atmosphere. This is the place to relax: watch the sunrise on the beach, meet the locals, explore the natural wonders such as the coral reef, tan under the sun, or simply soak up the serenity. Wedged between the bustling cities of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, it has maintained its peaceful atmosphere of a charming Mexican fishing village living up to its nickname “La Joya del Caribe” (Jewel of the Caribbean). Both locals and foreigners work hard to protect Puerto’s status as a National Marine Park and keep development to a minimum. Its close proximity to airports and bus terminals makes Puerto Morelos a perfect base for exploring the Yucatan peninsula.
