La Travesía is an all-inclusive private expedition for 2 to 8 guests that journeys between San Pedro de Atacama in Chile and the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia (or in reverse). Guests travel in customized off-road 4x4 vehicles accompanied by a private bilingual Explora guide and local driver, staying in Explora’s exclusive mountain homes and lodge outposts along the route.
Accommodations are built in secluded locations in partnership with indigenous communities. Each lodge features private bedrooms with plush beds, radiant heating, private en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, and cozy communal salons where guests enjoy fireside dinners and stargazing.
