Where Industrial Heritage Meets Patagonian Majesty
Declared a National Historical Monument in 1996, the former cold storage plant of the Frigorífico Puerto Bories has been masterfully transformed into The Singular Patagonia. Retaining its authentic 1915 post-Victorian brick architecture, towering chimney, British steam engines, and original machinery, the property serves as a living museum while delivering peerless 5-star comfort on the tranquil banks of the Señoret Channel.
Accommodations are situated in a modern waterfront pavilion cantilevering directly over the water, where floor-to-ceiling 6-meter panoramic windows provide uninterrupted views of the Patagonian fjords, glaciated mountain peaks, and maritime wildlife. With a private dock accommodating the hotel’s custom expedition catamarans, travelers embark on exclusive navigations to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers, horseback treks across local estancias, and guided explorations deep into Torres del Paine National Park.

Built in 1915 by British engineers, the Frigorífico Puerto Bories was the economic engine of southern Patagonia for much of the 20th century. Today, it is a declared Chilean National Historical Monument. Guests can explore original Victorian steam engines, boilers, and machinery meticulously preserved as a living museum inside the hotel.
The Singular Patagonia offers over 20 exclusive guided excursions, including private custom catamaran navigations directly from the hotel dock to Mount Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers, full-day expeditions into Torres del Paine National Park, horseback riding through local estancias, fjord kayaking, and condor watching.
The Singular Patagonia operates seasonally during the southern hemisphere spring, summer, and early autumn, typically opening on September 23 and welcoming guests through April 30, when Patagonian weather conditions are optimal for wilderness exploration.
The hotel is located just 5 minutes (5 km) from Puerto Natales Airport (PNT), which receives seasonal flights from Santiago. It is also an easy 3-hour private scenic drive across the Patagonian steppe from Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ), which operates year-round daily commercial flights.
