The Sanctuary of Peace & Joy
Nestled amidst the serene forested hills of Ise-Shima National Park on the tranquil shores of Ago Bay, Amanemu is an exquisite modern ryokan resort that embraces the restorative Japanese tradition of onsen (mineral hot springs). Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the property draws its name from the Sanskrit word for "peace" and nemu, Japanese for "sharing joy."
Amanemu comprises 24 expansive suites and 8 palatial multi-bedroom villas, each featuring its own private onsen bath fed by mineral-rich thermal waters, vast outdoor timber verandas with plush daybeds, and panoramic vistas of pearl rafts floating upon the calm waters of the bay.
Gastronomy is an homage to Mie Prefecture's storied heritage as the ancient imperial larder (Miketsukuni), featuring peerless Matsusaka Wagyu beef, sweet spiny lobster (Ise-ebi), freshly harvested abalone, and crisp local produce served at The Restaurant with views of the bay. The resort's centerpiece is a monumental 2,000-square-meter Aman Spa, anchored by a vast thermal spring garden with open-air mineral baths, watsu therapy pools, and holistic wellness pavilions.
