What’s it like on board a Regent Cruise?
If you’ve sailed aboard our ships, you know there’s an air of sophistication that comes with the Regent Experience. But when we start nearing those festive dates on the calendar, the crew does an amazing job at elevating the décor, the menus and the programming.
As early as Halloween, you can anticipate costume contests and indulgent treats. Thanksgiving is a truly elegant epicurean affair, with our Chefs really showing off their skills—even our baristas get in the spirit by making pumpkin-spiced lattes. During Hanukah, you may light candles and find latkes, gefilte fish and even matzo ball soup on the menu. Throughout December, our bakers create splendid gingerbread villages, and our bartenders gladly serve eggnog. Around the ship, you may run into Christmas carolers and even Santa himself. And when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, you can’t help but be overwhelmed with joy to be celebrating another year in the company of such extraordinary friends and family.
On my sailing, General Manager Nickie Sheils and herteam really outdid themselves, not only with the decorations, but truly bringing to life the joy and merriment that makes this season the most wonderful time of the year.
Where to Vacation During the Holidays?
I chose Rio to Miami as I had never been to South America, and the one-way flight from Miami was easy. I also wanted to spend time with some of our World Cruisers who joined Seven Seas Mariner in the weeks leading up to the start of the World Cruise. Luckily, this year Regent has Journeys of Joy, a dozen holiday sailings to choose from.
Across all six of our ships, you can choose to celebrate Halloween to New Year’s Day, and everything in between, while sailing to Asia’s less-traveled villages or immersing yourself in the natural wonders of South America. Choose to experience a thrilling safari in Africa or plunge into the Great Barrier Reef while in Australia. Or, simply relax under the Caribbean sun.

During my holiday cruise, I was able to connect with Seven Seas Society members over a cup of coffee, a cocktail and even some special dinners. I loved hearing their stories — not just those recounting their past Regent cruises, but also getting to know them on a personal level.
