Though Pacific Rim, a new Pan-Asian specialty restaurant aboard Seven Seas Explorer®, is months away from its grand opening, Regent Seven Seas Cruises® executives were welcomed to an exclusive tasting of the gourmet restaurant's inventive menu on a crisp Saturday afternoon in Miami.
Frank Del Rio, chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Bob Binder, vice chairman of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Randall Soy, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Franco Semeraro, senior vice president of operations for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, were among the guests previewing Pacific Rim's inventive menu.
The tasting began with sensational tuna tartar featuring sushi grade tuna with mirin soy sauce, carrot and ginger dressing followed by Tom Kha Gai, chicken-coconut and galangal broth, truffle, porcini and foie gras. The afternoon continued with a total of twelve mouth-watering appetizers, soups, entrees plus dishes from Pacific Rim's Dim Sum menu including Open Top Pork and Shrim Sui Mai with black truffle and yuzu sauce and vegetarian pot stickers.
"Developing these incredible recipes for Pacific Rim has been wonderful," James Wang, chef de cuisine of Pacific Rim, said. Wang brings 18 years of global hospitality experience to Pacific Rim and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
"We focused on using the finest ingredients for each cuisine and we hope our guests will enjoy it."

Designed by leading architectural firm RTKL, the architectural and interior design for Pacific Rim is a perfect example of Asian fusion. In the restaurant lobby, guests will encounter a modern interpretation of a Tibetan prayer wheel which sets the mood for the visual and culinary feast to come.
