Pixar Place Hotel Review: Is It Good for Toddlers at Disneyland?

Planning a Disneyland trip with toddlers and wondering where to stay? After spending 5 nights at Pixar Place Hotel with my 2-year-old twins, I can honestly say this hotel surprised me; in the best way.

Before our trip, I read plenty of reviews about Pixar Place Hotel. Some people complained that the theming wasn't impressive, that Creators Club felt underwhelming, or that the hotel didn't feel particularly special.

After actually staying there with toddlers, I don't agree with those reviews.

For our family, Pixar Place Hotel turned out to be a really comfortable, practical, and genuinely fun place to stay during our Disneyland vacation.

And if you're traveling to Disneyland with toddlers, there are several things about this hotel that I think are worth knowing before you book.

So, Is Pixar Place Hotel Good for Toddlers? Yes.

What stood out most wasn't just the Pixar theming or the proximity to Disneyland. It was how well the hotel worked for the realities of traveling with littles.

There were thoughtful touches everywhere; from the room setup and kid-friendly activities to the Cast Members who remembered our children and interacted with them throughout our stay.

It felt like we were still in the Disney bubble even after leaving the parks. And with toddlers, that matters.

🏨 The Rooms Are More Spacious Than I Expected

One of my first impressions of Pixar Place Hotel was that our room was pretty spacious.

This was especially helpful traveling with two toddlers and all the stuff that comes with them.

One practical feature I loved was the storage underneath the beds. You can fit a full-size suitcase flat underneath the bed, which helped keep our luggage out of the way and gave us more usable floor space.

The rooms also had plenty of charging options. You could plug your charging cable directly into the available ports, or use your normal charging block.

And here's a little feature I loved: 💡 The bedside reading lamps!

The lamps actually push out from the bed area, giving you a reading light while you're lying in bed.

For parents traveling with toddlers, little things like this matter. Once the kids are asleep, you don't necessarily want to turn on a giant overhead light just because you need to find something or read for a few minutes.

🌴 Why I Loved Our Pool Terrace Room

We specifically chose a Pool Terrace room, and this ended up being one of my favorite decisions.

Why is that such a big deal? Because when you have toddlers, bedtime doesn't necessarily mean your night is over.

Once the kids were asleep, we could sit outside on the patio and enjoy some peace without having to sit silently in the dark inside the hotel room. For parents traveling with little kids, I think this is one of those features that sounds minor when you're booking but becomes really valuable once you're actually there.

🎨 Pixar Place Hotel's Theming Is Better Than I Expected

I had read some pretty negative opinions online about the theming at Pixar Place Hotel.

After staying there, I don't think the theming deserves all of that criticism. In fact, I thought the theming was much better in person than what I had seen described online.

There are Pixar details throughout the hotel, and it feels intentionally designed rather than like a basic hotel with a few Pixar decorations thrown around. If you're traveling with toddlers who love Pixar, there's plenty for them to look at and discover.

🎬 Creators Club: Don't Believe Everything You Read

This deserves its own section because I saw this complaint repeatedly before our trip.

I read reviews saying that Creators Club was poorly themed or basically just a generic hotel buffet area. I didn't see it that way at all.

We actually thought Creators Club was really cool. There were plenty of Pixar-themed details, artwork, models and visual elements throughout the space. One of the details that really stood out to me was a full-on snake from Jessie's Critter Carousel tucked into one of the corners.

🧴 Pixar Place Hotel Has a Surprisingly Good List of Toiletries

One thing I didn't expect was how much the hotel had available if you forgot something at home.

The bathroom amenities included: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Shaving Gel, Razor, Shower Cap, Vanity Kit, Q-tips, Nail File, Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel

And one very specific thing that made me happy: The hand soap isn't a bar. It's actual gel hand soap, which I personally prefer.

They also had a hair dryer and a steamer stored underneath the beds.

For a family traveling with toddlers, having this many little conveniences available is fantastic because, let's be honest, someone is going to forget something.

❤️ The Cast Members Made the Biggest Impression

This might actually be my favorite part of our Pixar Place Hotel stay. We absolutely loved the Disney bubble.

Every employee we interacted with was kind and sweet toward our kids. And I'm not talking about just the front desk. We experienced this from:

Some Cast Members actually seemed excited to see our kids again the next day or when they returned for another shift. That was really special.

They were also happy to interact with the kids and help entertain them during those little moments when parents need an extra hand; waiting for an elevator, grabbing dinner, moving through the hotel, or simply trying to get from one place to another with two toddlers.

Those moments might seem small, but when you're traveling with little kids, they can make a huge difference.

🧹 Housekeeping Went Above and Beyond

This was another unexpected highlight.

Every day, housekeeping did something cute and creative for the kids.

They used our: Toys, Plushies, Books and even the Lamp in the room to create little scenes and surprises. And every single night, there was a new little card waiting for us with encouraging words inspired by Pixar movies.

It became a fun little surprise to see what they'd done each day. For our family, those details made the hotel feel much more personal.

It wasn't just: “Someone cleaned our room.”

It felt like: “Someone noticed we have kids here and wanted to make their day a little more magical.”

🎨 There's Actually a Lot to Do at Pixar Place Hotel

Another thing I really liked for a Disneyland trip with toddlers was the daily activity schedule.

The hotel offers different activities throughout your stay, so there are things to do even when you're not in Disneyland or Disney California Adventure.

During our stay, we saw activities including:

The kids' activities were particularly cute because they were interactive. For example, the coloring and racing cars activity gave the kids something to actually participate in rather than simply watching. That's a great option when you have toddlers who have reached the point where they need something to do every five minutes. 😂

🎬 Why Pixar Place Hotel Works So Well With Toddlers

After actually staying here with our twins, I think the biggest advantage of Pixar Place Hotel for families with toddlers is that it understands something important:

Toddlers don't care that you've already spent 10 hours at Disneyland.

They're still going to need snacks.

They're still going to need entertainment.

They're still going to want to run around.

They're still going to need naps.

And they're still going to wake up at 6:30 a.m. the next morning like they haven't just walked 14,000 steps around Disneyland. 😂

Pixar Place Hotel gave us things to do outside the parks, practical room features, kid-friendly programming, space to spread out, and Cast Members who genuinely made our kids feel welcome. That combination made the hotel feel like part of the vacation; not just a place we slept.

🏰 Would I Stay at Pixar Place Hotel With Toddlers Again?

Absolutely—I’d stay here again.

Our experience at Pixar Place Hotel was much better than some of the online reviews led me to expect. The rooms were comfortable and practical, the Pixar theming was better than anticipated, there were plenty of activities for kids and families, and the Cast Members went above and beyond to make our twins feel welcome.

But honestly, that last part was the biggest win. Our kids felt special here.

For our family, Pixar Place Hotel wasn't just a place to sleep after a day at Disneyland; it became part of the Disney experience. And when you're traveling to Disneyland with toddlers, that's exactly what you want.
