Sailing in Style: An Insider's Look at Explora I, the Flagship of Explora Journeys' Luxury Fleet

Explora Journeys, a luxury cruise line launched by the MSC Group, has revolutionized the concept of luxury at sea with its flagship vessel, Explora I. This stunning ship debuted in August 2023, offering an unparalleled blend of elegance, comfort, and bespoke experiences tailored to discerning travelers. Whether you're a seasoned cruiser or embarking on your first voyage, Explora I promises a journey that feels more like staying at a luxury resort than being on a traditional cruise ship.

Design and Amenities

Explora I is designed to evoke the intimacy of a private yacht, with a focus on refined ocean-front suites and impeccable design. The ship features 461 suites, all of which are oceanfront and include spacious terraces. From the modern and neutral décor to the expansive interior spaces, each suite mirrors the luxury of a boutique hotel room, complete with amenities like floor-to-ceiling windows, wireless charging pads, and high-quality linens.

The public areas of Explora I are equally impressive. Guests can enjoy the two-story Lobby Bar, the wake infinity pool, and a variety of dining venues that offer everything from a la carte meals to a unique buffet experience where all food is served by staff. The ship also boasts an array of stylish bars and lounges, each with its own distinctive atmosphere.

Dining Experiences

Explora I offers a curated collection of elevated culinary experiences across nine dining options. Unlike traditional cruise ships, there is no main dining room or traditional buffet. Instead, guests can dine at five inclusive specialty restaurants, with options ranging from casual to fine dining. There is also an extra-fee restaurant, Anthology, which provides a multi-course tasting experience. Complementing these are an inclusive in-suite dining menu, a coffee shop, and a gelateria and creperie.

Dining Highlights:

• Multiple dining venues: Each offers a unique atmosphere and menu, ensuring there's something for every taste.
• No set dining times: Freedom to dine whenever and wherever guests prefer.
• High-quality service: All food is served by staff, eliminating the need for buffet lines.

Entertainment and Leisure

Explora I is designed to provide ample opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. The ship features 12 bars and lounges, each offering a distinct atmosphere and an extensive selection of premium beverages. Guests can enjoy performances at the Journeys Lounge, the ship's largest entertainment space, or unwind at the Ocean Wellness Spa. For those looking for more active pursuits, Explora I offers a variety of pool areas, including an adults-only pool on the top deck.

Leisure Highlights:

• Spacious pools: Including an adults-only pool and multiple hot tubs.
• Diverse entertainment: From live performances to gatherings for solo travelers and LGBTQ+ passengers.
• Wellness options: Personal training sessions and spa treatments are available.

Family and Accessibility

Explora Journeys welcomes families and multi-generational groups with 82 connecting suites, allowing larger families or groups of friends to travel together comfortably. The ship also caters to passengers with mobility needs, offering 10 wheelchair-accessible suites located on decks 8, 9, and 10.

Family and Accessibility Features:

• Connecting suites: Perfect for families or groups of friends.
• Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible suites ensure all guests can enjoy the voyage.

Shore Excursions and Destination Experiences

Explora Journeys offers a range of Destination Experiences, designed to provide guests with personalized and enriching experiences at each port. These include intimate guided tours, private culinary classes with local chefs, and the option to book private tours. While shore excursions are not included in the cruise fare, they offer a unique way to explore destinations in a more personalized and less crowded manner.

Destination Experience Highlights:

• Personalized tours: Small group sizes ensure a more intimate experience.
• Local insights: Engage with local culture through culinary classes and historical tours.

Inclusive Luxury

Explora Journeys prides itself on an all-inclusive experience that goes beyond just meals. Guests enjoy high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, gratuities, and a selection of premium wines and spirits, all without additional charges. This approach simplifies the cruising experience, allowing guests to focus on relaxation and exploration rather than expenses.

All-Inclusive Benefits:

Explora Journeys' commitment to innovation and luxury is evident in every detail of Explora I. As the first of six planned vessels, it sets a new standard for luxury cruising, offering a blend of personalized service, spacious accommodations, and curated experiences that redefine what it means to sail in style.
